Austin FC Outlook

Austin FC drew 0-0 against New England Revolution on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium. Although the VERDE & Black created multiple chances throughout the night, they ultimately couldn’t find the back of the net. Brad Stuver kept the visitors at bay by making a total of eight saves in the match, earning him a spot on the MLS Team of the Matchday.

Austin is currently sitting in 9th place in the MLS Western Conference standings and could move up as high as 7th with a win against the Galaxy. The two teams met earlier this season at Q2 Stadium, resulting in a 1-0 victory for Austin. The sole goal came in the 81st minute when a low cross from Žan Kolmanič found Brandon Vazquez.

Austin FC will focus on securing its fourth league road win of 2025 this Wednesday before a 10-day break from MLS action due to the All-Star festivities in the Texas capital.

LA Galaxy Outlook

LA Galaxy enters this midweek match riding the high of a 2-1 victory over D.C. United, marking their third consecutive victory at Dignity Health Sports Park after going the first 16 matches of this season without a win.

The team has started to find its footing though, evidenced by a 3-0 win over high-flying Vancouver on July 4. Former Borussia Dortmund player Marco Reus has been an important figure for LA in 2025 with five goals and seven assists, leading the team in both categories. Matheus Nascimento has also been key recently with a total of five goal contributions in his last six appearances.

Austin will hope to target the Galaxy’s shaky defense which has allowed a league-high 43 goals.
